Abercrombie & Kent, a leading provider of individually tailored travel experiences, commissioned mb-studio to fit out their new Australian headquarters - over 1,000 square metres of commercial space, split across the top two floors of a seventies office building. The brief called for a series of client and staff meeting rooms and offices, open plan work spaces and informal areas for staff.

The main organising elements of the project are a series of internal ‘streets’ which promote a clear and logical circulation. Staff offices, meeting rooms and informal areas open onto these paths to encourage a greater sense of company-wide community. A new internal stair, wrapped in a translucent skin and illuminated by a large skylight, was introduced as a means of allowing movement and to increase a sense of connectivity between the staff across the two floors.
