Approach
mb-studio's approach to architecture is underpinned by an organic and integrated program of testing, developing and publishing ideas and thinking on the built environment. This process is embedded into all fields of our activity, enabling a constant expansion and cross pollination within our work and an engagement with a wider discourse. Our approach to design can be loosely organised into four streams:
Projects
Strategies, solutions and material applications developed specifically for projects, which are identified as having broader application are documented for future projects, or as opportunities for further self-directed research.
Applied Research
Ideas, areas of potential or particular conditions are investigated through design, as a series of both commissioned and self-generated research projects.
Design Education
Possibilities, ideas and urban conditions are explored and tested as design studios within an academic context. The focus of each studio is usually a response to ideas or areas of interest within other streams of practice activity.
Discourse
The outcomes of research projects and critical thinking on architecture, landscape and design are published and exhibited, both locally and internationally.
