Applied Research

mb-studio’s exploration of ideas, areas of potential or particular urban conditions are investigated through design, as a series of, both commissioned and self-generated research projects. The intent of this process is two-fold, firstly, to develop and contribute new knowledge on architecture, the city and construction techniques, and secondly to inform our own expertise and knowledge and apply this to ongoing projects within the practice.

Our current areas of research include:
Public space and civic infrastructure
Inner-city housing typologies
Relationships between architecture and landscape
'Positive' Infrastructure
